Our Review – Photo Gallery

We had a great time living our full time RV life at Blue Springs Lake Campground. This beautiful park has an awesome playground which was right in our backyard…literally! We were able to see the playground from our site, so Keahi was able to go to there (almost) whenever he wanted to. The boys had a lot of fun climbing and playing every day. Just outside of the campground was the Bryan C Pottberg Park which we also enjoyed, and we even made several new friends there. Unfortunately, our stay here involved constant tick checks because there were a ton of deer ticks and the grass was overdue for a good mowing (it did finally get mowed near the end of our stay which was much appreciated).

But did She LIKE it?

Yes, we were parked right next to the playground so it was easy to spend a lot of time outside having fun with the boys. Costco and Natural Grocers were both less than 15 minutes away which was so convenient! There were several good farmer’s markets and lots of parks nearby. I got several splash pad recommendations which would have been so much fun, unfortunately for us they did not open until after Memorial Day so we were not able to enjoy them during our stay.

But did He LIKE it?

No, the constant amount of ticks that we found on us and the boys daily was very overwhelming. Keahi and I both had to pick them out which left our skin irritated. There were some trails that we found that would’ve been more enjoyable if they were mowed a little, but the tall grass made it difficult to navigate. Now, it wasn’t all negative…the area was awesome; great BBQ, friendly people, and easy access to several local stores and vendors.

Activities we enjoyed outside the park:

Dinner at Q39 BBQ – Try their burnt ends, seriously they are the best. They are not the most kid friendly restaurant (no coloring pages or kids menu), but the food is absolutely worth a little extra chaos. Learn from our mistake and bring something for the kiddos to play with or draw on.

Independence Farmers Market – we got grass fed picanha! Matt was very excited about that. We also got a strawberry plant which Gesen was very excited about – unfortunately it died rather quickly (Send all your green thumb tips, our RV garden needs some help).

Park Place Farmers Market – quick stop, we got eggs and pasture raised chicken livers. We mix liver with our ground beef for meatloaf for added nutrition and it is delicious.

Visiting Matt’s cousin – 1st cousin once removed and 2nd cousins if you want to get technical.

Waterfall Park – We had so much fun chasing ducks and geese. We also got to watch people fishing, there were bull frogs, turtles, snakes and lots of blue gill!
