Our Review – Photo Gallery

We decided to stay at Circle M RV & Camping Resort because it was included in our Thousand Trails membership and on our way north to Maine. We were fortunate to get a new site that was extremely close to the outdoor pool and playground. There were no trees to obstruct our Starlink dishy which was great for Matt. The outdoor pool was large with a good size wading pool for the boys to swim and splash around in. No toys were allowed in the pools and we don’t typically condone breaking the rules, but we did bring a couple of small toys and tried to keep them in the baby pool only – no one seemed to mind and other kids enjoyed sharing in the fun.

There was not a dog park, but there was a large maintained field where we could take Autumn for a good run. We planned to take her to a dog park in Lancaster but never got around to it since it was so easy to play fetch with her at the campground.

During our stay we noticed a delivery of new washing and drying machines – it was great to be able to do a couple of larger loads and pay via debit card instead of with quarters.

But did She LIKE it?

I enjoyed the campground and many of the amenities it had to offer. I would take the boys to the pool almost every day and if not the pool then the mini-golf and/or playground. They also loved going into the arcade room and ‘playing’ the semi racing game, I love that they are young enough to be entertained by the demo. The campground was lovely to go for walks and a good portion of the roads were paved.

I was not a fan of driving the truck in Lancaster. It was an interesting city with lots of historic buildings but several of the roads were narrow and parking lots felt tight (it was much easier to drive and park in the more recently developed areas). I took the boys to Culliton Park, we were excited about the splash pad but we got there too late so the water portion was closed. The play equipment was decent, but there was a bit of trash and broken glass on the ground which was concerning – the boys were unable to keep their shoes on so we ended up leaving for the safety of their feet. There were several other parks in the area which looked nice, but the campground had more than enough amenities to keep us entertained so we didn’t feel the need to venture out.

But did He LIKE it?

I did! It was especially nice that the campground was so big. I was able to take Autumn on bike rides around the park almost daily. I will say that my one pet peeve, is the sewer. The drain inlets were too high, so I had to try and slope the hose high enough that it would actually drain. It took a lot of blocks and never really flowed well. But all in all, it was great being so close to the pool, playground, and activities. If you are planning to staying here, I would highly recommend getting in a new site that has the sewer on the down hill side of the site.

Activities we enjoyed outside the park:

Dinner out at Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar – Elegant restaurant with delicious health conscience offerings. We went for Gesen’s birthday, the food and service was great, although the boys were not cooperative for a relaxing evening.
Highland Orchards Peach and Sunflower Festival – fun festival but everything seemed to cost extra. It was free to enter the festival, but it cost money per person to go into the sunflower field and peach orchard, in addition to the money for the harvested sunflowers and peaches. There was very short train and pony rides for the children which also cost more than we would typically pay for.
We spent some time at Stoltzfus RV’s & Marine touring the Grand Design Momentum 395MS and 376THS The staff was very friendly and helpful. When we were leaving we had to stop down the street at the Amish Market to see if they had the same kind of stuffed pretzels we enjoyed in Maryland, and sure enough they did!

Where did we buy groceries?

Lemon Street Market: This natural foods store was around 15 minutes away from the campground. It was fairly small but had a wide variety of items available. The prices were on the higher side but seemed relatively normal compared to similar markets. We were grateful to find fresh local produce and raw milk.

Central Market Lancaster: This was an indoor farmers market around 15 minutes away from the campground. It was packed when we went! There was plenty of variety from fruits and vegetables to meats, fish and prepared foods.

Weis Market: This grocery store was an 11 minute drive from the campground, since we were there for the Amazon locker we decided to pick up a few groceries too.

Costco: The closest location was around 20 minutes away from the campground.

Whole Foods: The closest location was 20-30 minutes away from the campground depending on traffic. This was a large store that had lots of space between the isles.

Where did we get mail/packages?

We received amazon packages at the Amazon Hub Locker in Weis Market this was an 11 minute drive from the campground.

USPS general delivery This was a 15-20 minute drive from the campground.
